Kenya's gaming industry had been thriving since the late 1960s, there was no formal platform dedicated to championing its collective interests. This was surprising, considering the industry's substantial contributions to the nation in terms of employment and tax revenue. The need for a unified voice was undeniable

2003

Gaming Operators Met

Since its inception in 2005, the Association of Gaming Operators – Kenya (AGOK) has been at the forefront of efforts to enhance the gaming industry in Kenya. Building upon the foundation laid during the informal meeting held at the Mayfair Casino, Nairobi, on June 13th, 2003, where the idea of forming such an association was proposed and overwhelmingly supported by operators, AGOK continues to drive initiatives aimed at improving the gaming landscape in the country. From advocating for regulatory reforms to promoting responsible gaming practices, AGOK remains committed to fostering a thriving and sustainable gaming sector in Kenya.

2005

AGOK Registered and Issued With Certificate

From a visionary idea that has led to shaping Kenya's gaming industry, the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of these three members reached its pinnacle when, on the 1st of March 2005, the Association of Gaming Operators – Kenya (AGOK) was duly registered by the Registrar of Societies (Certificate of Registration No. – 24442). This momentous achievement marked the birth of a transformative journey, where AGOK would go on to redefine Kenya's gaming industry.

Currently, AGOK continues to stand as a beacon of progress in the gaming sector, leveraging its collective expertise and advocacy efforts to address emerging challenges and drive positive change within the industry.
